Summer Isn’t Over Yet
It’s almost August which means that, yes summer vacation is almost over. Never fear, though! That means that there’s still over a month left to soak in all the summer greatness Miami has to offer. So throw your bikinis back on and stock up on some more tanning lotion because we are nowhere near being done with summer yet, my friends. Here are some more of the events happening in and around the greater Miami area for the remainder of the best time of year:
FUNKSHION swim: Fashion Week Miami Beach Swim
This is a three-day event taking place from July 14th to the 17th on beautiful Miami Beach. This is the swimsuit industry’s biggest event of the year, so it’s no surprise it’s taking place in sunny south Florida. “All the major labels come out to play and young up-and-coming designers vie for a spot to get their suits into the eyes of the fashion elite. Nearly fifty designers show off their latest and greatest in the Mercedes-Benz tents alone. Across the city dozens of designers participate in satellite events that are organized by independent organizations.” So if you like fashion, parties, and Miami then you cannot miss this event. It’s the fashion event of the year with the least amount of clothes so show up ready to strut!
Miami Beach Bruthaz
Also along the coast of Miami Beach is this pride event filled with fun activities. Beach Bruthaz is an annual lifestyle event taking place from July 14th to the 18th for gay men of color in Miami and calls for all of the pride you have. Like any Miami event, this is more than just a day at the beach. It involves parties, workshops, networking, and socializing for all who attend.
Yogis unite for Miami’s premier summer yoga event. On July 13th, gather around Miami Beach Botanical Garden for a day of relaxation and zen. Don’t worry, it’s indoors and air conditioned. Taking place in a unique sub-tropical oasis and being taught by experienced professionals, this is sure to bring out the summer yogi in everybody.
Miami Summer Music Festival: Broadway Night
If you’re not busy on July 13th, I highly recommend heading down to Barry University in Miami Shores for the Broadway Night of the year’s Miami Summer Music Festival. Showtunes will be blasted by the MMF Opera Studio so bring your dancing shoes, ladies and gentlemen. Classical musical theatre comes to life in this event and you do not want to miss it.
So even though temperatures and rising and summer is slowly coming to a close, there is still time to do all the fun Miami summer activities before it’s too late!
