Movie theatres everywhere and all those lucky enough to allow their eyes to gaze upon the beauty will soon witness history. An upcoming action-comedy starring non other than Zac Efron and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will sequel the 1989 classic Baywatch’. Directed by Seth Gordon, the film will be a modern take on the classic of the same name. The filming of the movie primarily took place in Deerfield Beach, FL, with setting in Broward County. The original TV series was shot in Malibu, California, while the movie also featured scenes from Savannah, Georgia and Miami, FL. We can expect special guest appearances from original cast members David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson. Shooting started in February of 2016, and the final release of the film will take place in May 2017.
One of the reasons Baywatch is causing so much buzz is because of the fashion in the movie. Although it takes place in present day, the swimsuit apparel draws inspiration from the 80s. Pamela Anderson’s famous high ride one-piece will be making a comeback. We’ve created our own version of that iconic suit and gave it our own Miami flavor.
There have been sightings of Efron and Johnson shooting in the South Beach area by locals, and hype for the movie premiere grows as trailers and promos for the film start unveiling. Brickell native and college student Mackenzy Tejeda says of the upcoming film, “Baywatch is an instant classic, and throwing in Zac Efron’s shirtless body in there certainly isn’t hurting anyone.”
For those of you who are like me, and can’t wait to feast your eyes upon the beauty that is the cast of Baywatch, teasers for the film are currently on YouTube and Google.
